WATER
THE LIFE GIVER

SCIENTISTS SAY
WATER IS THE MEDICINE
THAT PREVENTS & CURES
ALL MAJOR DISEASES

he largest single component of the human body (approx 70 percent) is water. Loran Eisley said "If there is magic on the Planet Earth, it is contained in water." Our home Planet Earth is uniquely gifted with water which forms 66% of its surface area. Water is life giver and enables human beings to survive on this Earth.

Rig Veda says:
“Water contain
All disease-dispelling medicaments,
Useful for the upkeep of our body,
So that we may live long
To enjoy the bright sun.
That there is ambrosia in waters,
There is healing balm in them,
And there are medicinal herbs,
Know this all,
And by their proper use become wiser.”

In most cases, it is found that we are not drinking enough water. Up to 70 percent of our total body weight is due to water. Normally, our daily diet provides about two-third body's requirement of water. Some health practitioners suggest that you drink about eight glasses of water every day to meet the remaining one-third of the body's requirement. You may need to drink more water when you are tired, sweating profusely.

Importance of water for Human Body
All cells contain micro channels of water that make possible the traffic of materials and information among cells. In the heart muscles, it makes it possible for them to contract-and so let the heart beat. In the bowel, it allows digestive and absorptive functions. In the liver cells, it catalyzes all detoxification processes. In the kidneys, it carries toxins into the urine. In the cartilage, it protects the ends of bones in a joint-and so prevents arthritis. Indeed, no life processes are possible without water.

What water does for you
Consider these varied and valuable tasks water performs within us.
1. Lubrication: Saliva moistens the food we eat, helping us to chew and swallow it and, if our eyesurfaces were not bathed with fluid, they would become dry and inflamed.
2. Respiration: Water moistens and warms air before it reaches the lungs.
3. Circulation: Water helps to keep the blood at a proper consistency.
4. Digestion: Water is the solvent that allows food to be digested and absorbed. Via the bloodstream, nutrients are distributed in a fluid state to cells in need of nourishment throughout the body.
5. Filteration: Water carries waste products away from body organs, releasing these toxins through the skin as perspiration, and from the kidneys as urine.
6. Shock absorption: Water lubricates the body joints, thereby supplying cushioning for the bones.
7. Temperature control: Water makes it possible for the body to cool itself by skin evaporation of perspiration, thus preventing a dangerous buildup of internal heat. This is especially important in hot weather.

‘Most people do not drink enough water which leads to a number of serious diseases’ (Dr. Deepak Chopra)
“A very simple but powerful purification technique is to boost your intake of water. The human body is approximately three four water. Several scientific studies have found that our sensitivity to thirst diminishes as we age, so we become at risk for developing subtle levels of dehydration of which we may not be consciously aware. Most people do not drink enough water, which can lead to a host of symptoms: headaches, constipation, dry skin, fatigue, and indigestion which may lead to dehydration. Some physicians have gone as far as to suggest that many common health concerns, including high blood pressures, asthma and chronic pain have their origins in dehydration.”

Daily recommended intake of water
Assuming that you do not have kidney or liver problems, we recommend getting into the habit of drinking water throughout the day. You can calculate the recommended number of ounces of daily water intake by dividing your weight in pounds by two.
For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, your daily water intake should be 80 ounces or 10 cups per day. Soda beverages, tea, and coffee do not count, as their caffeine content has a diuretic effect. Similarly, alcohol also causes water loss and does contribute to dehydration. If you are active in sports, or live in a hot, dry climate, increase your daily intake by another 10 to 15 percent."

‘The human body is a water pond in which float all human cells’ (Dr. Majid Ali)
“The human body is a water pond in which float all human cells. When a drought lowers the water level in a pond, all pond life suffers, many life forms die. Chronic dehydration does the same to human tissues and cells.
1. The primary difference between a young and an aged cell is that the aged cell is dehydrated and shrunken.
2. The primary difference between a vigorous and a tired cell is that the tired cell is dehydrated and shrunken.
3. The primary difference between a healthy and a toxic cell is that the toxic cell is dehydrated and shrunken.”

Water reverses the ageing process
Many people who follow this water routine report that they more easily lose unwanted weight and have more energy and less chronic aches and pains. Drinking plenty of fresh, pure water is one of the simplest and least expensive way to reverse the ageing process. Pure water flushes out toxins and wastes from the body and ensures perfect health.

Water prevents Kidney stones
Hippocrates recommended large intakes of water to his patients to reduce the recurrence of urinary tract stones as early as 400 B.C. today, we know that many factors can contribute to the risk of developing kidney stones including age, sex, heredity, occupation and diet. But only one diet, especially fluid intake can be changed easily having a marked effect on all factors. Barley water in large quantities has been tried and tested treatment for kidney stones since centuries.

Water energises brain and improves memory
In the brain cells water is essential for nerve impulses to be generated and transmitted. The body is made up of approximately 70 percent water, with certain tissues-such as grey matter in the brain, contains upto 85 percent of water. Hence be sure to take sufficient quantity of water to keep your brain functioning properly. Water can influence mental activity. A study conducted at the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences, Delhi (Gopinathan, Pichan, Sharma, Archives of Environmental Health, 1988), found that a 2% loss of body fluid affected short-term memory and reduced the ability to add subtract.

Water cures irregular heartbeat
It is well known that water can affect physical performance during exercise but research now shows that dehydration can trigger mitro value prolapse-an irregular heartbeat-in women with the characteristic tall, thin body type associated with the disease. "When the women in this study were rehydrated, their heartbeats returned to normal," says Dr. Kleiner.

Drink water to lose weight

Water intake plays an important role in combating obesity; people who drink more water tend to eat less because water takes the edge off hunger. Losing weight is not all that difficult. Drink water and see the magic working. Mara Vitolins, a nutritionist at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Centre has said that drinking water may help you shed some pounds. "Water can decrease your appetite. It may also help you cut calories."

Beat the heat with water
Every year millions of people suffer because of excessive heat. The best way to beat the heat is to take lots of water.
It immediately cools down the entire body system.
Some of the dangers of taking less water are de-hydration, heat stroke etc which effect vital organs of our body, as under:

Taking water empty stomach in the morning increases its efficiency by 100 %
It is ideal if water is taken first thing in the morning.
At that time stomach is empty and the cleaning of body system is done without by obstruction from food articles. Water taken in the morning not only cleanses the body of all toxins but also it invigorates and energises all the vital organs of the body due to its life-preserving properties.

How does temperature of the drinking water affect health?
Cold water
Cold water from natural sources is fit for drinking because of five main reasons: It dilutes the blood to the required consistency, promotes excretion of poisons from the skin in the form of 'evaporation', stimulates the normal functions of the kidneys and therefore increases the rate of removal of 'poisons' from the body through the urine, increases movements of the intestines, thus facilitating formation and passing of soft stools.

Lukewarm water
Hot water has also several benefits. For example, as soon as you drink hot water, there is instant stimulation of the inner lining of the stomach and contraction of its blood vessels. Thus, you are less likely to suffer from increased acid secretions in the stomach. Hot water cleans the stomach, relieves heartburn, belching, flatulence, acute indigestion, vomiting and cramps in the abdomen. It is important to remember that hot water should be sipped and not gulped.
So, water is the most logical, natural and simple medicine for all diseases. What can be simpler than taking water. From Vedic period to modern times, importance of water has been emphasized for the smooth functioning of human body. Water is nature's natural healer which, besides curing various diseases, fights off fatigue, reduces tension and boosts energy.
